Surprise me
Surprises are good for the soul.

:)
********************************
4 years in Cedar wasnt a bed of roses. In fact, it's more of a nightmare.
Ironically, I love the school spirit. And I'm proud to be called a Cedarian. Always.
:))
Thanks to the school's fund raising carnival for the new building, there I was, 8 FREAKING years after graduation, walking down the memory lane with bestie.

The crowd was MASSIVE.
We tried to BLEND in by participating in their games.
But we had difficulty understanding their instructionsssss.
Generation gap you say?
So we ended up buying food and drinks at sky-high prices.

Anyway, the motivation behind the two games we played is to win the Cedar bear.
But it's NEAR to impossible.
In the end, when we finally decided to buy it, it's out of stock and we were told:
"You need to play these games to win it!"
SERIOUSLY?!!?
But like what they say: When there's a will, there's a way.
Hurhur. Check out Missy Formal and Missy Casual .

I bought the blue one 8 years ago (!!!) when I left Cedar, so I was pretty determine to get the yellow one today. Like what Fang said, it's like a memento for us. ;)

Here's some of us who went.
Surprisingly, we had a good time reminiscing the ol' times, despite me being MIA most of the time. Guilty as charged.
And because I'm feeling nostalgic tonight, let's do a "Benjamin Button".
I think most of us still look the same, 8 years ago.
This piece of art is amazing, I tell you.
I kinda remembered that each of us were asked to state our ambition at that time.
So one of the girls actually drew what we will be 20 years down the road.
Being a triple sci class, a bus of them wanted to go to Medical school (which I think a few really did in the end).
But 8 years later, instead of doctors, we have a bunch of accountants.

And my ambition then?
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.

To marry Tiger Woods and be Mrs Woods.
At the age of 16, I think I had greattttt foresight.
And guess what? The two of us who wanted to be Taitai ended up as Engineers instead.
(And no one in the class wanted to be Engineers then!)
I guess we came to realise earning our own moolahs is more practical.
That, my friend, is the cruel fact of reality.
;)

Commencement 2008 - Friends

One of the best things that happened during these 4 years is to know this bunch of pals.
=)
Through thick and thin, my friends!
Will we think about tomorrow like we think about now?Can we survive it out there? Can we make it somehow?I guess I thought that this would never endAnd suddenly it's like we're women and men
Will the past be a shadow that will follow us 'round? Will these memories fade when I leave this townI keep, I keep thinking that it's not goodbyeKeep on thinking it's a time to fly
.
.
Moogle said I'm turning this space into a Flickr.
Which is true.
So here's some of the photos from that day.
=)

Anyway, this is TOTALLY random.
After looking through the photos, my mum realised that I was hugging Linus almost all the time.
And I think she is right. Ha.
Such an adorable little thing. How can I not hug it 24/7?
Heh.

Commencement 2008 - Family
So four years of slogging equates to thirty seconds of fame on stage.
Alright, not exactly fame cos' I wasn't the Valedictorian who went up stage to thank my parents, sibs and friends.
But truth to be told, the parents are just happy about the occasion and most importantly, happy for what I have achieved,
despite the achievement being mediocre.
They probably wont be reading this,
but thank you for the trust and support, mum and dad.
:)
Am really glad that the brother took time off his work to grace the occasion.
And thankful for his company with the folks while I was busy running around, taking pictures.
HEH.. BIG LOVE!
So here's my favourite photo of the day!

:))
P/S: Will upload the rest of the photos when I'm feeling less lazy (;

Pre-commencement
Tomorrow's commencement marks the official closure to my four years in NUS.
But because it's on a freaking Monday, my dearest pals will be busy working and so they surprised me today at my neighborhood's playground!
Luckily I was resting at home due to my HUSKY + SEXY voice.
Heh.

And I will make sure that the ONLY time that I'll have my picture taken with the mortar board is when I'm on stage. Cos' I look damn weird with the board.
So it's Pre-commencement at the playground! Woot!

Love!

Memory lane
Some friends asked if I took photos on my last "official" day in school.
Probably on my mind then was to celebrate the end of EVERYTHING involving CHE.
Take photos? Nah.
But dont get me wrong. I like the school. I like NUS.
Truth to be told, every time when 151 makes it way over the flyover and turns into campus,
I'm more than grateful to be part of it.
And so, I went back to school today. But allow me to digress here.
I went to try the sizing for the gown and I'm truly impressed by this lady (Azzlina) who's stationed at the gown counter.
The place was pretty crowded but she's very patient with each and every of us,
asking for our height and providing us with the suitable gown.
For my case, it was a tad tricky. I should be wearing M for my height.
But it's quite loose on the shoulders. S fits perfectly but it's a bit short. As I went down
alone, there was no one to give me any suggestions.
Thank god for her genuine and objective opinions, it made my decision a lot easier.
=)
Anyway, I made my way back to Engine thereafter.
A familiar yet distant place, where I spent a good 4 years in.
Pictorial evidences of some places/things that I passed-by ever so often,
but failed to take notice of how it looks like from another perspective.

Spent the rest of the afternoon in town, sat in a cafe, read a book,
had tea and salmon sandwich for lunch, as the world whizzed by me.

Very therapeutic.
Cherishing moments like these, that belong to me, myself and I.
=)

CPK
Me and my FYP partner aka 800 are trying to go back to our lab
as often as possible. To, you know, keep up with the FYP hype.
And here's some stuff we did to kill the waiting time.
-------------------------
Met up with the class peeps after lab to redeem our pizza from California Pizza Kitchen
Yummy food except maybe the Hawaiian (cos' I chose it. BOO)
The chocolate banana royale cake is love. Heh.
Anyway, a certain someone, who goes by the name of Brad Pitt aka 3818 joined us for dinner.
Apparently,Brad got reprimanded by another certain someone through MASS EMAIL (to the whole world) for playing lottery game during a bidding round.
But our Braddy boy is certainly proud of it.
Even willing to pose for askayoyo.blogspot.com
I feel so honored.

And of cos we have no problem with that.
.
.
.
Finally a groupie of all of us.
(oooo and spot Brad Pitt!)

PS: 3818! I've upgraded liao. No more Astro boy. Hahahahaha.

Loving it... =)
I'm loving the weekends! Teehee...
Yesterday was SUPERB! The BEST DAY yet for the new year cos' I got to see most of my favourite girlfriends and boyfriends on the same day =)
Was quite worried that my gastric will be bugging me on Sat so I slept at 8PM on the previous night. Despite my effort of resting early, I wasnt feeling perfectly well on Sat morning. But I really.. really want to join the Nuke Pawn Starssss and have a day of fun with them. So I went down to NUS and nve regretted it.
:: Zusammen ::
Ah yes. I'm supposed to do a MATCH by MATCH analysis BUT you know, I should just cut the story short and not bored you guys with the details. Ha.
(After summarising, I realised it's still VERY LONGG! So bear with it k)So the 10 teams were supposed to play captain's ball, floorball, soccer and frisbee on point basis; 2 matches each and the team with the highest points at the end of the 8 matches wins.
FrisbeeMatch 1:I was late =P and missed their first frisbee match. But the guys and nini were really really good.
Thrashed the other team with a score of
18-4. URPS.
Match 2:
Played with a LOSER team. Pui. We won
13-0 anyway. So all's good.
Floorball Match 1I reached when they were abt to play floorball. And that was when we realised floorball is/was our SI3 XUE4. But to be fair, the game is HOW difficult to play la! So many sticks with such a small ball! Wahlau. And most of us wasnt even familiar with the game. So.. we lost
0-2 =/
Match 2:But after gaining some experience from other teams, we won the second game
3-0! Teehee
Captain's ball Match 1Ah this match was freaking exciting! The opposing team was like how strong. ALL guys no girls. CHEATER BUG. And we found ourselves trailing 0-4 at one pt. Then 3-6....5-6..and finally 8-8. WOOHOO. That's not the final score btw. Ha. Cos' someone (I forgot who..) scored ONE MORE PT at the last min and WE WON
9-8! Hahahaa.. lucky pawn stars!
Match 2: We won
13-4. Nuff said.
Soccer Match 1The Nuke Pawn Stars' forte. Defending champion wor. (Literally) They need a girl in each team so I'm finally of good use. After watching 10 years of soccer, I finally get to put my LEGS on a soccer ball. Ha. My job was quite easy though. The guys gave me a few suggestions.
1. HUG the striker of the other team and die die oso dont let go. Hmm....
2. Just stick with the other girl of the team and stay out of the way.
I did pt 2 for match 1 and yea.. the guys won
2-0!
Match 2For the second match, my legs got itchy and went to tackle one of the players =P
And he fell abit too easilyyy. But call me John Terry now k. Cos' I think I got the flair. HOHOHOHOHO...
Anyway, we won
3-0 in the end. Yea.
So in the end, we got 14 pts out of the possible 16. Another team got the same pts too but we beat them with a goal difference of
13 goals!! ARE WE GOOD OR ARE WE GOOD? Ha.
Here's what we won......

Some pizza and polar (not the cake shop obviously...but I think garypal wished it was!) vouchers
And here's the NUKE PAWN STARS! *TING*

You guys notice anything wrong? If you dont, STARE harder. Ha.
Anyway, I think everyone needs a special mention here.
Starting from the back row going clockwise:
- Ahben's cute friend aka...
(ehh..I forgot his name =P) Weiyong aka ENERGIZER(?!) Erm.. so ya.. Cute friend was really good! Scored some spectacular goals during soccer and floorball. Was practically everywhere on the pitch. Sporty guys are very cute indeed......Woot. - Ahben. Was practically everywhere on the pitch as well. STAR player of the team. Our mind and soul!!! (how's the ego yo!)
- Garypal. Still going strong at 75kg. (Oopps) Anyway, his best tactic-TIME WASTING. That came pretty useful during the floorball match. Ha.
- Yanhua. Our frisbee king. The scoreline says it all. =)
- YWCY. Ehhhh.... His main task that day is to suan me. Period.
- That's ME! Send Yogi the pic and he was like: "Who's the 1st and last person at the back row?" *Roll eyes* But anyway, I was there just to have fun. Did nothing very constructive. Teehee.
- Ralf. OUR CAPTAIN! The one who organised and made this possible. Also scored the FIRST goal for the soccer match, and he will be reminding the guys of this goal for the next 1 yr to come. Hahahahaha.
- NINI. Our floorball captain! and the very powerful captain's ball babe. She's everywhere too!
- Xinwei. The undisputed goalkeeper for every game! And CLEANSHEET for both of the soccer matches! I was, you know, one of his "defenders" for soccer and I saw the many shots that he blocked using his oh-so-very-long-legs-and-hands. For the record, he played EVERY SINGLE GAME without being sub-out. (Did you guys realise tt?) I'm really impressed.
- KS. The real defender of the team. Sol Campbell plus William Gallas plus Gary Neville combined. You get the idea rite? ;)
Okie if you are still reading up to this point, you deserved a pat on the back. Cos' this post is HOW WORDY.
Anyway, if you still dont see anything wrong with the above picture by now, you must be one of those passerby.
DANG!
Here's the unedited version of the NUKE PAWN STARS.

Notice the difference?? Hahahahaha.. I think I'm getting better at PS.
After the games, I rushed back home, got myself changed and made my way to meet the girls to celebrate hP's birthday!

See how lobster I'm! My face's totally burnt.
(Anyway, qh's with her new BANGS! We love BANGS! Wooohooo.)

And our very unique present for the birthday girl.
A DVD player!
Had a great time catching up with them once again!
Rolling good times =)
But weekends flew by too quickly. BOOHOO. It's monday again tmr.
You know what they say it's true. Treasure your school life. Working isnt as rosy as it seems to be.
