Michael P.

"I know that it's not going to be easy getting there and there are going to be some bumps in the road here and there - but everybody has bumps in the road and it really just depends on how you get over those and make sure it doesn't happen again."

-Michael Phelps-

Oh so true...

Randomized

2 great reads.
=)

A Thousand Splendid Suns:

A remarkable and beautifully crafted novel. Khaled Hosseini paints harrowing and brutal scenes but always retains humanity, spirit and above all love through the characters of Mariam and Laila. It forces the reader to acknowledge and recognize not only the suffering of people in our war torn world but something else, the human capacity for survival, forgiveness and love. Truly a wonderful book to read.

"One could not count the moons that shimmer on her roofs.
Or the thousand splendid suns that hide behind her walls. "

A spot of bother:

The book exposes a family dealing with aging and retirement, a homosexual son, marriage and relationship difficulties and the opinions of the world around them. The dilemmas faced by these ordinary characters are familiar to us all, but Haddon's humorous and insightful treatment of them can be quite thought-provoking.

Weekends bites:

Waruku. Brewerkz. Golden Ale. Azabu Sabo. Hokkaido Ice Cream Yumyum. Soup Restaurant. Fireworks Display. Anderson's Fondue Yumyumyum!

And before you know it, it's the start of the week again.
It's scary how weekends flew past when you start working.

W833

I used to detest Sunday cos' I would be working my ass off some assignments or preparing for the endless tests that came my way.

Now, I get to do what I like/want to do on a lazy Sunday afternoon, which is pretty cool.
=)

Being a couch potato for a day is pure bliss. Especially so when the Olympics is on.
For there's Micheal Phelps with his 8TH GOLD MEDAL in the morning and Rafa Nadal in the afternoon. Am now awaiting for the Singapore's paddlers to grace the podium for the 1st time in 48 years. Even PM Lee has made his way for this significant moment. What excuse do you have not to witness it?

Then there's Chelsea vs Portmouth and Man U vs Newscastle thereafter.
If not for the run in the morning, I might just turn into a potato for sitting on the couch the whole day today.
BURPPPP.
.....................

Anyway, I attended an ex-colleague's baby girl's 1st birthday not long ago.
She's quite a replica of her mama! Cuteness overload. Heh.

.............................

Had my second prawning experience and I definitely had my lesson learnt from the first.
The bait used is FREAKING important la.
SeeeHum and earthworm will ensure that you have a basket full of prawns after 2 hours.
Never ever use FISH CAKE cos' the prawns are not that dumb. Seriously.

Photobucket

I dont know if you realised but one of the lights was in a heart shape!
Cos' Love is all around? Hehe.

So another week awaits and I wonder what's installed.

Week in Summary

So last week zoomed past! As usual.

Thursday:
Went jogging around the workplace after work with the peeps at work. (Ooo.. it rhymes. Ha.)
Changi Village Zi Cha thereafter which was filling. =)

Friday:
Bak Ku Teh + Swensen's earthquake for lunch. Natas fair with fellow Metalians + Bedok Blk 85 Ba Cho Mee, chicken wings, stingray and oyster egg. Sinful but YUMMY x 1000.

Saturday:
Did a morning run with the girls at YCK in view of our 10km GE run.
50% there, but there's 50% to go!
.
.
Ikea lunch. Poached Salmon + Chicken wing! Woot.
.
.
First pay saw me bringing the family to dinner at Melt @ Oriental Mandarin.
Dinner style buffet where the ambiance was great and the service was excellent.

Photobucket

A great variety of food was served. Japanese, Thai, Indian, Chinese cuisine, just to name a few.
Lobster, Alaska Crab, scallops and oysters!
But I LOVE the dessert section the MOST. YUM!

Photobucket

And because it's the full-dressed rehearsal for NDP 08, we managed to catch the fireworks in the mist of our dinner. Perfect view, it was, as the floating platform was just right in front of the hotel.

We caught Money Not Enough 2 at Marina thereafter, which turned out to be quite a heavy-hearted movie. But definitely a family show IMO.
=)

Sunday:

Dental with the friendly dentist at 9AM in the morning. Macs brekkie at Tea Garden. Shopping at Queensway. Shopping at Orchard. Dinner at Shimbashi Soba @ Paragon which WAS HEAVENLIOUS.

Photobucket

And it's hello Jewel Box after that.
Cinderalla + Blackcurrent fruit tea + Heineken + Black Russian

Photobucket

I am so looking forward to this week cos' National Day is here!
I love Singapore! Do you??! Ha!
