(Very) Random thoughts

If you have not already know, my laptop DIED on me on the night before my assignment was due. And my assignment was nearly complete IN THE LAPTOP. *sigh* I think I am TMD suay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lucky enough, my bro offered to send me down to NUS ,on a FRIDAY which I have no school, just to get it repaired. I was planning to tell the guy that "PLS SAVE THE BABY( hard disk) before the ADULT (the laptop)" . But the guy said he was 95% sure it's hardware failure. Pls dont let it be the 5% where it's hard disk failure! I think I will just "long pia" ( in the spirit of Ah Lee! Hahaa..). Sigh.. no lappy for the weekend. I am going to be so very sad.

Rah.. In addition, I think I misplaced my invoice for the purchase of the lappy and I need to replace it with a cost of 20 bucks. BOO HOO HOO. When you are down on your luck, everything goes against you, right in your face, like pieces of SHIT.

Anyway, it's during times like this that I get to know WHO are the nice friends ard when you are down and OUT!

Ah Ben:

I think I almost freak out mins after my laptop decided to bid me goodbye and go to its lala land. All I was thinking abt was my assignment! Ah Ben was nice enough to hear me bitch for a good half and hour or so abt the departure of my beloved lappy. He reminded me that I should be more concern abt the pictures and music that's in the hard disk rather than my assignment. Bleah. Pal, you are right. I wasnt thinking straight then. Oh.. he even sent me his lsm assignment so that I dont need to redo from scratch! How nice eh. I think he deserved a pat on his back. *pat pat* =P THANKS BP!

Ah Lee:

Ahh.. Thanks buddy! Without your words, I think I might just crashed into pieces ages ago. Sigh... I am very blessed indeed. Cant wait to see u NUS!

Nini:

Nini offered her place for me to do the assignment. *sob sob*
I LOVE U la. *muacks*

Ah Kiat:

Eh what did he do? Hmmm.. oh ya, he told I got sth to blog abt again. RAH
Anyway, must thank him for his SUPPORT in spirits. -_-"

In the spirit of Ah Q, I think whenever something (my suayness) reaches a peak, it will eventually go down. Hopefully, it's going to be true.

Alright, time to meet the girls. Cant wait.

Astro Boy

While waiting for everyone to be back for dinner, I was doodling on my workpad. TRalalala... I drew a ASTROBOY. Ha.I mean something close to Astroboy la. It's a boy though. Eh anyway, back to Astroboy. ASTROBOY is soo cute! Erm no? SEE THIS!

Cute not!

During the summer hols, while working at PS, there was this showcase of ASTROBOY everyday at the atrium. EH I din know astroboy got lots of friends one wor. Anyway, this HUGE angmo guy will be there everyday during lunch time to teach the kids to dance/sing the astroboy song.

It goes sth like this:
A-S-T-R-O... ASTRO ASTRO.. ASTROBOY! Lalalalalala.. *I only manage to catch the first part everytime though..HA*

Then the Ang mo will do a little gig with the song. Quite funny eh. So Lynette and I'll imitate him when we were bored. Hahaa..

Sigh... How I wish I can be transported back to time, where all I care is eat and sleep and shop.

Oh right..
Happy Birthday to PAPA.
Though I doubt he'll see it. Tee hee hee. He's over 55 and approaching 60 but there's no sign of him aging. Is there? Oh and I think he looks like Alex Fergerson!

TMD. So fast mid term break ENDS liao. RAH.
Anyway, went to "chill out" last weekend with Ah Ben and co. Haha.. they are very nice ppl u see. Knowing that their poor classmate (me) is kinda stressful, they decided to CHILL out with me!

Went to watch THE match of the season at Oscars. TMD. Stupid Man U din even have one proper attack! *fumesss.. waste my time can! *

Then we went to Carl Jr for dinner! Wat's sooo nice abt the BIG ass burger man! So ex somemore!

Thereafter, I think Ah Boon suggested going to play some WAR game la. End up playing wat.. "YES SIR YES SIR" instead at the marina arcade. PUI.. I cant shoot for nuts. Wanna kill ppl oso missed my target! DAMN. Ah Boon and co is like HOW pro can. Rah.

O then smart ass Ah Kiat suggested playing POOL which is just beside the arcade. Hahaa.. I cant imagine him playing pool man. Thought he only know how to mug. But at least it's better than the "YES SIR YES SIR". Wah lau.. Siao siao lo that guy. He plays like a PRO lo. Watching him and Ah Ben play machiam watching Pool tournament. But like what Ah ben said, anything that involves PHYSICS, like measuring the angle la.. and the force needed to hit the balls with the cue ball, are smart-ass-Kiat's forte. We cannot win him one.

The night ended with me.. CATCHING the last bus home. BAH.

Chilling indeed.

Mood Analysis Test

Woah.. this test is kinda accurate. *gasp*

Try it.

MOOD ANALYSIS TEST RESULTS

You are seeking an affectionate relationship, offering fulfillment and happiness. You are capable of powerful emotional enthusiasm. Deep down, you are a kind loving person, always helpful and willing to adapt yourself if necessary to realize the bond of affection that you desire. But you need the same consideration and understanding from others and it is this need that will sometimes hold you back... so let go, trust and you may pleasantly surprised at what happens.
You dislike playing the field in every sense of the word. When you develop a relationship it needs to be a close fulfilling one, one that has deep meaning for all parties concerned.
You are not an argumentative sort of person and 'rather than fight - you'd switch' (an old cigarette ad cliche). But when you try to assert yourself - as sometimes you may try to do - you meet with so much resistance and effrontery that manifests itself so obviously that you become hurt, indignant and resentful. So in order to have peace and quiet you tend to become inhibited. You keep it all to yourself but deep down, you 'feel' and 'hurt' a lot.
You are holding back. You need to find friends in whom you can trust and once they have proved themselves beyond all possible doubt you will be prepared to give them your all. The existing situation is not of your liking - you have an unsatisfied need for mental stimulation with others whose standards are as high as your own. Trying to control your instincts the way you do restricts your ability to open up to others and the way you feel at this time is suggestive of 'total surrender'. This is not to your liking as you consider such thoughts as weaknesses that need to be overcome. You feel that only by control, controlling your innermost thoughts, are you able to maintain your air of superiority. You want to be admired for yourself alone and not for what you can do or for what you may have done. In essence 'you need to be needed' and at the same time 'you need to need'.
You would like to be respected and valued for yourself and this can only be achieved from within a close and harmonious relationship.

Life's never Fair

This article is taken from the Newpaper today. I totally agree with what this journalist wrote. Nothing against Kelly but it's soo TRUE.

Ohh and take note of the bold para, about the collaboration with other singers in their recording company. NOW tell me, is life fair or not?? HUR???!!

"THE dust has settled, the albums are next. Project Superstar winner Kelvin Tan is set to release an album with Singaporean label Play Music, while runner-up Kelly Poon has signed with international record company Universal Music Singapore.

Project Superstar's top two Kelvin Tan and Kelly Poon. But what can we expect? And more importantly, will the albums sell?

The New Paper spoke to industry pundits, TV viewers and the two men who will be responsible for marketing the Superstar winners - Play Music's marketing director, Mr James Kang, and Universal Music's marketing manager, Mr Andy Kwan - about what could work for and against the two...

Kelvin Tan, 24,the Stevie Wonder of Singapore

Ideal image: Humble boy-next-door who inspires people.

Greatest strength: Ability to touch people's hearts.

Worst weakness: His blindness.

Formerly a busker, Kelvin will undergo a makeover, but nothing too fanciful or flamboyant, said Mr Kang.
'We foresee something simple and representative of who he is, and we will capitalise on his unique ability to touch hearts.'
UFM's vice-president, Ms Anna Lim, agreed that Kelvin should 'just be himself'.

'He can't be an idol singer because of his disability, but he has the support of the masses,' she said.

'He can also work towards becoming Stevie Wonder, who is not only a great singer but also composes and plays the piano.'

But two Project Superstar viewers felt that Kelvin's disability could work against him.
Event manager Estelle Tan, 29, said: 'As a performer, he needs to come alive on stage to engage the audience, but he is restricted by his disability. He won't go far because he can't depend on sympathy votes forever.'

Added technical officer Ben Chang, 26: 'He can't dance or make eye contact, and his singing is
only slightly above average.'

Musical style: Sentimental folk-pop.

Everyone we spoke to agreed that Ocean Au's breezy folk-pop style would suit Kelvin best, though You Weekly reporter Tina Tan warned that Kelvin should find his own niche instead of copying Ocean.
'The music scene is too small to vie for the same pie. Kelvin needs good pop songs for his debut, or else there may not be a second album.'
For that, Mr Kang claimed that he is roping in Singapore's best musicians to pen the most suitable songs for Kelvin, mainly sincere, earnest folk-pop tunes.
Covers of Kelvin's signature tunes performed during the contest, like Guang Liang's Fairytale, will also be included.

Marketing campaign: A five-figure advertising and promotions campaign spanning radio, TV and print.

'It will be nothing short of our investment for Ocean Au, Joi Chua and Nicholas Teo,' said Mr Kang.
'Although the whole of Singapore already knows who Kelvin is, good music should still be promoted.'

Star collaborations: 'Maybe we can have Kelvin do a duet with Jocie Kok, Cyndi Wang or Lena Park,' said Mr Kang. Jocie is a Play Music newbie, while the label promotes Cyndi's and Lena's albums.

Going regional: There will be talks, but 'it depends on whether our regional partners have the foresight and confidence in our artiste', said Mr Kang.

The good news is, Play Music he has just worked with EMI Taiwan to launch Malaysian crooner
Nicholas Teo successfully in Taiwan.
( Sorry wor, but can someone tell me who is LENA PARK and NICHOLAS TEO?)

Kelly Poon, 22,the Karen Mok of Singapore

Ideal image: Cosmopolitan with demure girl-next-door appeal.

Greatest strength: Versatility.

Worst weakness: No personality.

The girl-next-door singer may be a dime a dozen, but Mr Kwan said such an image is still the safest bet for a debut.

'We'll start with demure, then let her develop into someone mature and sophisticated,' he said.
'Like Karen Mok, she can be both very lady-like but also very wild.'
Industry pundits and TV viewers alike acknowledged that Kelly's versatility and showmanship make her the ideal next pop export.

Said Ms Tan: 'Kelly is very chatty and active on stage, and she has the stage charisma.'
But Kelly lacks a strong personality that would instantly set her apart from all the other sweetie-pies vying for attention.

Lianhe Wanbao reporter Tan Pin Yen said: 'If you close your eyes and listen to her talk, you'll wonder if she's Fann Wong.

'Maybe it's her air-stewardess training, but Kelly is too politically-correct.'

'To be an idol, she needs to be more vocal instead of always going by the book.'

Musical style: Contemporary pop.

To show off her versatility, Kelly will do both sweet ballads and some fast songs, said Mr Kwan.
But MediaCorp's channel vice-president (Chinese broadcast), Mr Paul Chan, cautioned that she would face stiff competition in this popular genre.

'She can be Jolin Tsai or Elva Hsiao, both of whom can do ballads and fast numbers equally well,' he said.

'But, to fight it out with them, Kelly must first discover what is her own unique quality.'

Marketing campaign: Also a five-figure advertising and promotions campaign spanning radio, TV and print.

'It will be a no-holds-barred approach, since Kelly is our first local singer in three or four years,' said Mr Kwan.

Star collaborations: 'We won't discount the possibility of duets with Jacky Cheung, Eason Chan or Wilber Pan,' said Mr Kwan.

All three are Universal artistes.

Going regional: Since Kelly already has 'the whole package' to be a star, Mr Kwan said he will consult his Taiwan counterparts to see what is best for her "

Voda Voda Superstar Finale

Sigh... I'm gotta miss Voda Voda Superstar. Nothing to look forward to every wednesday and thursday liao. Anyway, Weilian WON THE Voda Voda superstar TITLE! Woo hooo.... and he beat Kelly by a whopping 190,000 VOTES alright. Sympathy votes?? Wah lau.. Singaporeans where got so free? 190K leh!! Not 19 lo. U think this is NKF meh?

Well, it's true that Weilian did not perform to up to his standard after his second song yesterday. ... But his second song is like HOW GOOD can??!! I like! Of cos, Kelly's performance was no doubt like 10 times better than Weilian, machiam like she having her concert like that wor. She is someone who is like any other singers that already EXIST in the industry, such as Jolin, Coco lee, with her cannot-hiam-de WU TAI MEI LI. So she belongs to this group of singers whom everyone of us is so very familar with. Whereas for Weilian, I think he is one in a million. Yes, he cant dance, his actions are stiff, he cant give you the eye contact, but when he sings, he touches people's heart with his sincerity. Many people whom I know were touched by him yesterday. We enjoyed Kelly's performance but how many of us were TOUCHED by her performance? I dunno, but I din.

Like what my sister say, everyone has their own definiton of a superstar. Thus, I feel that the comparsion btw Kelly and Weilian is just totally OFF! Just dont understand why there are some people out there who just loves to make nasty comments on his handicap. Singaporeans are not blind by voting for him. I believe that many of us feel with our heart, and certainly not judge him by his looks or watever not, other than his voice. In contrast with what one of my friends said, Singapore has no hope cos we have just gotta ourselves a blind superstar, I am full of hope for Asia's first blind singer. It's being a long time since I got an artist's CD (Weilian's CD not considered alright), and I am actually looking forward to his cum Jan next yr. Maybe I'm old already but S.H.E, energy, or even 5566 no longer appeal to me.

Alright, that's my 0.02 cents of worth. Actually, I wanted to say abt the SUPER CMI judges but I reckon that is another entry all together.

Wonderful Webcasts, tutorials and tests are waiting for me. How nice. I'm so loved.
