Fate or Faith

Everything Happens for a Reason

Sometimes people come into your life and you know right away that they were meant to be thereā€¦to serve some sort of purpose, teach you a lesson or help figure out who you are or who you want to become. You never know who these people may be but you lock eyes with them, you know that very moment that they will affect your life in some profound way.

And sometimes things happen to you at the time that may seem horrible, painful and unfair, but in reflection you realize that without overcoming those obstacles you would never realize your potential, strength, will power or heart.

Everything happens for a reason. Nothing happens by chance or by means of luck. Illness, love, lost moments of true greatness and sheer stupidity all occur to test limits of your soul.

Without these small tests, life would be like a smoothly paved, straight, flat road to nowhere safe and comfortable but dull and utterly pointless.

The people you meet affect your life. The successes and downfalls that you experience can create whom you are, and the bad experiences can be learned from. In fact they are probably the most poignant and important ones. If someone hurts you, betrays you or breaks your heart, forgive them because they have helped you learn about trust and the importance of being cautious to whom you open your heart.

If someone loves you, love them back unconditionally, not only because they love you, but also because they are teaching you to love and open your heart and eyes to little things. Make every day count. Appreciate everything that you possibly can, for you may never experience it again.

Talk to people whom you have never talked to before, and actually listen. Let yourself fall in love, break free and set your sights high. Hold your head up because you have every right to.

Tell yourself you are a great individual and believe in yourself, for if you don't believe in yourself, no one else will believe in you. Create your own life and then go out and live it.

Woot!

So the mid-term break is finally here. YAY.
And I'm slacking as if the to-do-list has nothing scribbled on it.
Burpy.

Anyway, in view of mum's birthday, the Ters had a stomach-bursting-9-course dinner
at this Teochew restaurant, whose name I cant recalled, courtesy of Brother Ter.

After which, we went to hang around at his pad as I waited patiently to pounce on
the Haagen-Daz ice cream cake, courtesy of Cousin Ade =)

Happy Birthday, Mum!

Me thinks the folkies look very HIP.
But so do we!
Hahaha.

HELP man!
I think I'm starting to look around the same age as the sister.
Is either that I'm aging at an exponential rate, or she has stopped aging altogether.
Tsk tsk tsk.

On a side note, I think I cant live without Photoshop.
If only I'm using Photoshop instead of HYSYS for the project of the sem.
BOO.
About time to start using the brain.
Double BOO.

The Song of India

I realised it's been a long long time since I blogged about food!
One reason being after reading ieatishootipost, I think my foodie photos look like crap.
Secondly, I think I've been eating the same kind of food day in day out.
So there's nothing interesting to blog anyway.
But most importantly, I think I'm getting old and lazy to take photos of what I eat constantly.
Hahahaha.

Anyway, thanks to my atas gourmet pal, an evening was spent at The Song of India.
We felt kinda out of place being the youngest pair among the pool of expatriates
but all was good when the food started streaming in.

I was thinking to get a new camera and the other day, I spent like almost half a day reading on Canon G9 (when I should be doing research instead.. Argg).
I was 88% convinced by the reviews that I SHOULD get it.
But because moolahs dont drop from the sky like snow, I'm still contemplating.

On a even sadder note, the stress of school work is getting to me.
I hope I will survive March.
Thinking of it makes me SLEEPLESS.
Burrrrrrp.

CNY 2008

Happy CNY Pals!!!!
I'm actually not a very CNY person but oh man, the long hols this year
was SO SO good. I practically slacked for 1 good week, even before the CNY holiday starts.

Caught Juno to get the CNY mood going. Hahaha
And it was SO good. Like 100000 x better than Ah long,
and probably 9999 times better than CJ7.
(oh but 27 dresses is still my favourite!)

Then it was reunion dinner with the family.
Decided to eat out this year to save the hassle of cooking and cleaning for mum.
And the dinner was yummy!
=)

Day 1 was the usual relatives-visiting-and-hongbaos-collecting-day.
Me and sibs were pretty amused by our nephew.
The dog is freaking big can.

Caught CJ7 on Day 2 with the one who knew my DARKEST secret(s).
HEHEHEHEHE. ;)

Photobucket

Day 3 was Ah long-ified and I cant really decide whether CJ7 or Ah long is worse better.
But I think the Ah Long show is WAY too LONG.
Like 2 hours on loan shark?!! mmm..
HELP MAN.
So personally I still prefer CJ 7 cos' it's short and sweet la.
(Though I was quite shocked that HE 'died')

And then it was Blackjack-ing + soccer watching + Pizza hut-ing at garypal's.
I think I'm starting to like CNY.
Thanks to the long break, I can be mindless for awhile.
But it's back to reality after tomorrow.
So it's hello tutorials, tests and projects once again.
Burp......

xoxo
